We are delighted to share the news that Ofsted has published their report following an inspection of Eliesha between the 1st – 4th of October 2024, rating the quality of our education and our development of learners’ behaviour and attitudes as Outstanding, contributing to a grading of our overall effectiveness as Good.
Eliesha has successfully delivered the Level 3 Team Leader and Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeships since the Apprenticeship Levy was introduced in 2017, designing innovative, supportive programmes which have allowed managers across the country to balance their existing roles with impactful learning and development, helping them to become skilled, knowledgeable and confident in a comprehensive set of leadership behaviours and competencies.
Inspectors from Ofsted, the UK’s regulator and inspectorate for education and skills, spent four days at our head office and training centre in Newcastle upon Tyne, taking the opportunity to speak with members of the Eliesha team, our apprenticeship Programme Tutor/Coaches (PTCs) and a number of our on-programme and recently-completed apprentices. Within their full report, Ofsted spoke positively about the learning experience our apprentices have:
“Apprentices thrive on their programmes. They grow in confidence, developing the knowledge and skills to take on new responsibilities in the workplace … Apprentices make rapid progress in developing their knowledge and skills. They produce work of a consistently high standard and learn practical skills that enable them to become better managers in their job roles.”
There was also praise for our effectiveness as a learning provider…
“[Eliesha’s] leaders have a clear, ambitious vision for their apprenticeship programmes. They have over two decades of experience of training in leadership and management and are passionate and knowledgeable about this subject. Leaders establish a culture which is centred around their apprentices, with a strong belief in the ability and ambition of each individual … Leaders build highly positive relationships with employers and communicate with them very effectively.”
…as well as complimentary reflections on our PTCs:
“PTCs are highly qualified and experts in their field of professional practice … [they] draw on their contemporary and extensive experience to enhance their teaching … [and] use a wide range of highly effective teaching strategies in their online sessions. These include informative presentations, skillful questioning, and well-managed discussions. PTCs use examples which are relatable to apprentices’ job roles to help to scaffold their understand of key concepts.”
Chris Davison, Eliesha’s Apprenticeships Manager said “We are delighted with the results from our recent Ofsted inspection, which has recognised our Apprenticeship Programmes as being outstanding for their quality of education, along with behaviours and attitude to learning.” “It’s great to know that our apprentices feel valued and hugely supported by Eliesha and the work they produce is consistently of a high standard,” he continued, “which is highlighted by the high proportion of distinction grades obtained. This achievement is well deserved and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our incredible team.”
