Starting salary: £28,000 – £32,000 PA (dependent on existing skills and knowledge) + profit share bonus

About the role

To continue supporting our learners, building those successful long-term partnerships and delighting the customer, we have an exciting role for the right person to join the team as a Development Coach/Functional Skills Tutor, with the opportunity to progress into contract management.

Working out of our head office in Newcastle Business Park, (a minimum of 3 days per week with the option to work 2 days per week from home, after 6 months’ service) we are looking for an experienced tutor to:

  • Provide quality teaching, training and support against identified targets/individual learning plans and develop our apprentices’ skills/competency to successfully achieve their Level 2 Functional Maths and English qualifications and, where already qualified, to improve/ enhance their Maths and English skills.
  • Develop and manage an effective approach to support our apprentices’ own personal growth and development through the provision of Careers Information, Advice and Guidance activity and identify potential opportunities and professional development routes.
  • Enhance each Apprentice’s learner journey throughout their programme, contributing to higher retention by enhancing their role as citizens, supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead to embed our safeguarding strategy and improving their wellbeing and motivation while on the programme.

About you

  • Have a minimum teaching qualification of PTTLS or equivalent and D32/D33/A1/V1 quals or equivalent. Career guidance/learner/personal development quals would be an advantage.
  • Possess proven experience of teaching both Maths and English Functional Skills and the examination process.
  • Have an understanding and experience of Levels 3 and 5 Leadership and Management Apprenticeship Programmes, work based learning and key onboarding, professional discussion strategies, Portfolio building and Gateway processes.
  • Have an excellent knowledge of MS Office packages, Teams and Learning Management Systems.
  • A strong team player, with excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal, data management and administrative skills.
  • Experience of contract management is desirable but not essential

Selection Process:
