Skills Development Toolkits

When developing their workforce’s skills, many organisations choose to to create effective programmes of learning which focus on a particular over-arching topic or support certain functions or roles. Eliesha’s Skills Development Toolkits can be made available to any number of staff, with flexibility around the depth at which knowledge, skills and behaviours are changed and developed.

Topics

Learning & Development (L&D) teams need to focus workforce learning support on specific areas for wide variety of reasons. Whether it is a set of skills to help solve certain challenges, developing the behaviours that build a particular culture, or raising awareness of important workplace issues, grouping learning together enhances overall engagement and improves knowledge transfer.

Consecutive workshops can be used to gradually increase understanding of a single topic or used to cover a variety of different ones. Toolkits have the flexibility to suit differing levels of learner experience – for example, a workshop introducing coaching skills to new first-line leaders can run alongside a ‘refresher’ workshop for experienced coaches. Concurrent workshops can allow you to support a large number of learners in a short space of time.

We have also helped organisations to offer Toolkits around certain, ‘need to know’ areas, in which it is critical that all employees have a certain level of understanding. These could include Health & Safety, Mental Health Awareness, Legal Compliance or any other area in which leaders need to be confident that their workforce can make informed decisions.

Design

With a wealth of Learning Workshops within our existing catalogue, we can propose a Skills Development Toolkit that includes a selection of pre-designed materials or we can explore your specific learning and development objectives and design bespoke workshops that meet them precisely. We can also propose a programme featuring both new and existing workshops, or we can tweak our pre-designed materials to include or centre around your organisational vision, values and/or culture, with minimal design costs.

Delivery

Our Skills Development Toolkits are usually made up of multiple learning workshops, either provided as a series, attended by a consistent ‘cohort’ of learners, or provided as a timetable of pre-arranged sessions, on which they can book places, as suits their availability. The learning environment can be entirely virtual, fully face-to-face, or a blend of both.

Workshops can be supported with as much or as little additional learning as desired, which may take the form of Action Learning Sets, large-audience webinars and access to content hosted on a dedicated page of our Learning Management System, usually including a relevant selection of our Microlearning product series – pearls of wisdom®.

Administration & Support

Programmes of learning can be challenging to coordinate and require extensive support, so Eliesha offers a comprehensive, end-to-end management and administration service to make the process as simple as possible for both L&D stakeholders and learners themselves. Our contract management and learning administration teams communicate clearly and promptly, handle busy learning schedules, prepare comprehensive contingencies and, should the need arise, solve problems and make time-sensitive decisions quickly and confidently.

We have experience providing and managing intuitive and user-friendly online booking systems, which allow easy access for learners to book themselves on to workshops that suit their schedule. Having acted as a long-term learning partner for non-profit SMEs all the way up to multinational groups, we can shoulder as much or as little of the learning administration as required.

As an organisational learning partner, our preferred approach is to consult with you about your aims, objectives and culture, before recommending a unique Learning Skills Toolkit that will work perfectly for your organisation and your learners.

To give you an idea of what this might look like, below are four example toolkits that provide extensive and impactful learning support in their particular area of knowledge & skills:

Case Studies

UK Research & Innovation

Eliesha designed and delivered a skills development toolkit for UKRI entitled ‘Positive Learning Through Uncertain Times’. Its aim was to support leaders (including Senior Civil Servants) with learning support to help them lead their teams through an initial ‘evaluation phase’ of hybrid working, and navigate the complexity and ambiguity created by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Natural Resources Wales (Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru)

In the midst of a large-scale internal reorganisation, Eliesha provided NRW with a Wellbeing Suite of workshops which helped staff build confidence and feel supported during challenging and sometimes emotional positions. Workshop titles included Mastering Emotions & Resilience for Managers and Stress Awareness.

Government Internal Audit Agency

As part of an ongoing supplier relationship with KPMG within their consortium of learning specialists supporting the UK Civil Service, Eliesha provided a coaching skills toolkit for the GIAA to help their staff implement the Coach & Focus approach to performance management.
